Ark Aid Street Mission – Flooring Donation

Beckham Brothers is excited to share the wonderful updates happening at Ark Aid Mission.

Ark Aid recently received 4500 sf of new Reading Loose Caboose flooring donated by the Beckham Brothers. The Loose Caboose line is a robust Luxury Vinyl Plank with a reputation for high quality and long wear. It has a thick 28-mil (0.7mm) top layer, meaning even after high traffic it maintains its stylish integrity, making it ideal for Ark Aid who are continually servicing frequent guests and community members!

With the new flooring update, Ark Aid can now seat up to 68 people indoors for meals and services, while maintaining appropriate social distance. This is critical for Ark Aid services to continue throughout the cold weather months.

Ark Aid continues to provide take-out meals for up to 230 people, with the additional indoor space available for those who need it most.

The first area to receive the new flooring was The Fireside Room. The Fireside Room is a large space ideal for dinner service indoors during the cold winter months, allowing adequate service levels while supporting covid-19 protocols for distancing. The remainder of the flooring will be laid in the new bathrooms and shower facilities to the rear of The Fireside Room November 2020. Food distribution areas are scheduled for renovations in January 2021, with the main part of the Ark scheduled for updates in spring 2021.

Ark Aid’s purpose is to build relationships with people living on the fringes of society, who by reason of illness, addiction, poverty, age, life circumstances or otherwise, struggle to feel accepted and cared for. The street mission meets basic needs such as food and clothing, while also providing advocacy and wholistic support systems, actively building community with everyone who visits their location.

Beckham Brothers would like to acknowledge the skilled Ark Aid volunteers who came together to install the Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring. There were many volunteers contributing their time and talents including current and retired contractors, students, and an engineer. In one photo, you can see Clyde’s smiling face! Clyde is a volunteer and contractor in the Ark community who contributed by providing his services free of charge.

Thank you Clyde, and thank you to all the volunteers who came together to further enhance the compassionate services Ark Aid provides to those in need in our community.

We offer a variety of styles and price points with the quality you can count on from Beckham Brothers.
